Meadowbrooke Life beanies are handknit in the USA. Our studio and workshop is located in Houston, Texas. Why south Texas for cold weather fashion? Kate is an award-winning watercolor artist and oil painter in Houston, Texas. Her training in color and design goes into each Meadowbrooke Life beanie, but her heart is in the cool Colorado mountains where she spent many summers, and her family loves skiing.

Every beanie begins with the wool itself, a skein that catches her eye, often influenced by a painting in progress. Pattern or texture inspiration quickly follows. Mountain shadows, snow, deep forests, aspen golds, and cold stream themes are present in the winter line products. The starkness and color of the Texas plains and wild coastlines figure in both the paintings and knitting, and Texas coastal weather ultimately inspired the lightweight line of beanies.

“Meadowbrooke Life” is a lifestyle we share through art and luxury hand knits. Collectors (you need many beanies!) can enjoy a bit of the peace and comfort we hope for you through this Meadowbrooke Life.

Creating luxurious wearable art is about more than just making beanies.  We don’t compromise on supplies. The wool, pattern, and fit are all of the utmost importance. We use patterns from designers we trust and have tested, and we use bamboo needles. Pompoms are handmade by us or sourced from high-quality, small mom-and-pop businesses. The luxury and softness, the texture (“feel” or “hand”) of the slide of the wool running across fingers, the warmth of the wood needles, and the soft, squishy, touchable luxury of the finished product are all part of the process.

Did we mention that these beanies are not itchy? This soft, natural, long fiber wool we source makes all the difference! Indulge yourself with an amazing, warm, comfortable, fashionable beanie. It’s incredible how much better you feel when your head is cozy.
